Our Programs
Behavioral Health Services
Catholic Charities of Lexington partners with Iris Gutierrez, LCSW to provide behavioral health services at a reduced rate for qualifying clients. Currently, this program is available exclusively to Spanish-speaking individuals who are low-income, uninsured, and unable to afford behavioral health care. Eligible clients may receive up to six counseling sessions focused on individual, couple, or family support. Our staff conducts an initial intake to confirm income and need-based requirements before connecting clients with participating counselors. While services for English-speaking clients are not currently available, we hope to expand the program to reach a broader population in the future.
Mental health plays a vital role in a person's overall well-being, and studies consistently show its impact on physical health, decision-making, relationships, and self-sufficiency. According to the CDC, over 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. live with mental illness, and in Kentucky, that number is even higher—37.4% of adults reported symptoms of anxiety and/or depression in 2023 (KFF.org). Through our partnership with compassionate, professional counselors, we aim to address this urgent need and help individuals lead healthier, more meaningful lives.
