Food, Fun and Finances: Lasting Change Reunion

Jun 29th, 10
On June 16, Catholic Charities of Lexington sponsored a reunion party for Lasting Change graduates of April 2010. Five program participants and their mentors were in attendance, along with Scott Neal, the workshop facilitator, as well as Angela Burns and Annie Ormsbee from Catholic Charities.

Program graduates were able to reconnect with their mentor and discuss their financial progress. Brian and Patricia shared that because of the class they were able to find ways to save $500 and purchase a used car. Monica shared that her attitude toward money had changed as a result of the Lasting Change program. Monica’s mantra used to be: “I want what I want when I want it.” Now, Monica says she puts her needs before wants, and thinks seriously before purchasing items.

Graduates and their mentors intend to keep in touch during the summer months and look forward to the next reunion!
