"Be it known to all present that Sal and Catherine Nalli of the Cathedral of Christ the King, are presented the Bishop's Recognition Award for Diocesan Service.  Together they reflect the love of Christ through their faithful service.  They epitomize the shining light of faith in their marriage, family, neighborhood and community at large.  Willingly accepting the call to serve in a myriad of settings, Catherine and Sal have been the heart, arms, hands and feet of Christ the servant leader.  As members of the Sera Club, Sal and Catherine actively support the ministry of the Diocesan Vocations Office; offering hospitality, giving an attentive ear, and reaching out with a prayerful heart to help those discerning God's call to give their assent of will to serve God.  Their steadfast support of the Vocations Dinners and the Mary, Mother of God Vocations Annual Conference, encourages and invites others to open their hearts and minds to the presence of God in their lives.  Catherine and Sal have each served in numerous Diocesan leadership roles: Catherine is the current president of Catholic Charities' board of directors; Sal is a former Charities president and president of the Sera Club.  They are both effective leaders as well as faithful followers, bringing to every venue their constant faith and witness to Gospel values.  Catherine's current Catholic Charities leadership is helping smooth the transition and implementation across the spectrum of services for those with most profound needs.  Sal's visionary leadership materially contributed to the current strategic direction for Catholic Charities and the implementation of the capital campaign taskforce.  Their stewardship and witness to Gospel values epitomizes the call of Christ to all Christians.  Sal and Catherine's performance, attitude, and personal convictions exemplify the love of Christ for His Church -- unconditional commitment and sacrificial service."

The staff and board of Catholic Charities join with others in the diocese to congratulate Sal and Catherine for this well-deserved honor.  Their leadership, energy and enthusiasm have enriched the work of Catholic Charities, moving the agency forward in the fulfillment of its mission of service.
