Asset Mentors Needed

The next series of Lasting Change is set to start Thursday, October 13. Catholic Charities is looking for 4-5 volunteers willing to serve as asset mentors. Lasting ¢hange is a financial literacy program which is specifically geared toward unbanked, low-income individuals who rely upon community organizations to supplement their basic needs. Lasting ¢hange utilizes a holistic asset building approach by combining mentors, facilitation-based workshops, peer support groups, and banking incentives. Asset mentors develop relationships with the program participants. The purpose of the mentorship is to offer individualized attention to address the specific needs of participants.
The classes will be held at Pax Christi (4001 Victoria Way) beginning Thursday, October 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The classes will run for six consecutive Thursdays, ending November 17.
