Elizabeth “Biz” and Catesby Clay have been married for 51 Years.  They are the proud parents of eight children, including an accomplished chef and a diocesan priest, Father Chris Clay, pastor of St. Lawrence in Lawrenceburg.  They have 9 grandchildren. 

Lifelong residents of Bourbon County, they are members of Annunciation Parish.   Biz and Catesby are very active and generous supporters of their parish.  Biz with Religious Education, as Sacristan, and as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.   Biz recently received the Knights of Malta Award.

 Catesby also serves as an Extraordinary Minister and a Lector.  Both actively promote and support Pro-Life Activities, and early on supported the Montessori School in Lexington.   Catesby has served on various boards, including Fasig Tipton and Keenland.  In 2009 he received the Thoroughbred Club of America Honored Guest Award at their 78th Annual Testimonial Dinner. 

The Clays have been gracious hosts and longtime supporters of Catholic Charities, opening their beautiful Home and Runnymede Farm on many occasions beginning in 1991 to host the agency’s annual La Fete du Mai Friend and Fund Raiser. 

They are universally known as kind and generous people of faith, willing to share their treasure and talents to improve the lives of all.

The agency is pleased to honor them as 2011 recipients of the Sister Fran Moore Award.
