FAYETTE COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTORY AVAILABLE

As a service to our partner parishes, Catholic Charities staff and the Program Committee of the Board of the Directors has prepared a directory of community services for Fayette County.  We hope it will be helpful to church personnel and others who are seeking assistance.

FUNDING AVAILABLE TO AID RECOVERY FROM MAY 2010 FLOODING

The agency was recently awarded Disaster Assistance funding from Catholic Charities USA. Eighty percent of this funding will be used to give grants of up to $500.00 to individuals in the Diocese of Lexington who demonstrate a financial need as a result of the flooding that occurred at the beginning of May. For example, this money may assist an individual with home repairs, car repairs, new clothing, or payment for a bill he or she is unable to cover due to added expenses directly related to the flood. The remaining twenty percent will allow for volunteer support for churches, businesses, or other organizations involved in clean-up efforts. For example, this funding could be used to provide snacks and water for volunteers, reimburse gas expenses, or purchase building materials. This funding will only be available for a limited time, requests for assistance should be made as soon as possible.
